Advantages/Strengths

Having a complete name of the Tweaking Toolbox for Windows, or TTW for short, this particular software is basically a metamorphic software, meaning it is capable of changing any number of Windows-based settings. With TTW, you can modify your own programs settings, but at the same time, keep other users from changing them. Essentially then, you are empowered to create a personal programs setting which others cannot alter. Along with such a feature, the software also increases security for your Windows-based computer, making the possibility of others modifying the
settings that you yourself created all the more impossible.

Aside from the programs setting, you can also get to improve the appearance, the basic functions, and the all-around Windows performance of your PC with the TTW. Specifically, with this particular software, you retain full control of your computer as it allows you to restrict the functions of the Start menu. Likewise, the Control Panel buttons can be programmed to have limited access. Ditto for the contents of the Internet Explorer which can have restricted access once you have reset its present password through the help of the TTW.

Essentially then, with the TTW, users can make Windows-based programs to function exactly the way they prefer it to function.

Disadvantages/Weaknesses

With its amazing array of features, the Tweaking Toolbox is unquestionably a must-have for all PC owners who want a more secured programs setting. In terms of security, the software appears to be world-class and users can rest assured that all their personal files will be kept confidential and no third party can successfully lay hands on them. Unless of course the third party involved is a certified computer programming whiz kid.

But keeping your files completely confidential can also get to be a disadvantage at times. This becomes especially true in cases of grave emergencies. Although it can rarely happen, some files can become important tools in certain life emergencies, but with the TTW in place, such emergencies may never be addressed effectively. Nevertheless, it is still recommended that at least one other person has a certain degree of access to some computer files that are protected by the TTW.

Also, while the TTW admittedly has a wide range of very useful features, some of these functions are unavailable in the software's no-charge test version which some users may attempt to avail of to determine how effective the software actually is. This can get to be a disappointment for some users, especially if they feel that the limited functions featured in the test version is not sufficient to determine the effectiveness of the software.

Price

Single users of the TTW can purchase the software at its current retail price of $24.95 through several varieties of payment modes. This will include purchases made online, by phone, or by fax. Payments can be made in cash and through credit cards.

However, for those who wish to try the software first before formally making a purchase, the TTW can be availed of at no charges involved for a minimum of one month. Simply download the software from its official website though it is highly recommended that one read the software's user agreement page first before making any downloads.

Software Size

The Tweaking Toolbox software averages about 759 kilobytes in size. Quite small and compact for a software that is suppose to carry a ton of features. Though released only less than two years ago, the TTW is already making quite an impact in the software market. Not really a big surprise when one considers the many changes that it can effect in most Windows-powered computers not necessarily limited to the PC.

With its basic ability to make changes in the latter versions of Windows computer program settings, this software just might get to prove the veracity of an old adage, that big things do come in small packages.

Operating System Required/Compatibility

If your PC is Windows-based, then you will not have any problem in the installation of the TTW software. It is basically compatible with several Windows versions, including Win 98, WinME, Windows 2000, and recently, Windows XP. Making this even more special is the fact that when
installing the software, there are no special requirements needed.

Admittedly, this is probably one of the reasons the TTW is a highly popular computer software. A lot of market research was probably placed into finding out which operating system will most likely benefit from the software's many features. The hands down choice of course was Microsoft Windows. This is not at all surprising since this particular program can be found in practically every computer system all over the world. The entry of the TTW software in its field is an obvious stroke of marketing genius.

With the TTW, great improvements can be expected in many Windows-based computer systems, but most especially with the PC's. One additional advantage of this amazing software is the fact that if they so wish, users can easily redo or undo the modifications that the TTW initiated in the same way that the changes were easily effected in the first place.

License

License for the unlimited use of the TTW is available both for single users as well as for multiple users. Multiple license users, meaning those who purchase at least 3 TTW licenses have the added benefit of saving around $9.90 as opposed to single users who purchase the software at
$24.95 each.

Corporations who place bulk orders of the software are also provided discount bonuses. Ditto for those who purchase the TTW software by the volume. For a more complete information on the benefits of buying a TTW license, either singly or by the volume, interested buyers can check out the licensed user terms and conditions section found in the software's official website.
