The internet has made the whole world interact in a completely unique way. Like in the real world, the virtual world has the same concerns. Different personalities, styles, and preferences are brought across the medium called internet. That is why, menaces also plague the virtual sphere.

These days, security threats are prevalent even in the internet. The privacy and security of internet users are being bypassed to get vital personal information. Whether we are aware of this or not, security and privacy threats on computers with internet connections are widespread today.

Generally known as the spyware, this program is designed to gather personal information via downloadable programs on the net. Then, this information goes to the server of the spyware program company. This may not sound that invasive, but once the computer starts to slow down and contains excessive pop ups or ads, then the issue of nuisance surfaces. More importantly, tracing surfing habits of users and searching for email addresses, passwords, and even bank account information are the missions of spyware application. Spyware program then becomes a serious threat.

It is worth noting that there are different forms of spyware programs. These programs are created for special purposes depending on the kind of spyware program and the target effects or damages.

Adware program is a type of spyware that are found in frames or windows that pop up. This program consists of downloadable programs such as Gator and BonzaiBuddy that allow downloading of wallpapers and screensavers. But most adware programs are pornographic in nature. Also, adware programs affect the speed of the computer.

On the other hand, malware is a software especially created to mess up computer systems. A malware program hijacks the computer, mouse, and the keyboard. Viruses are installed into the computer that are hard to abolish, even with various anti-spyware programs.

Browser Hijacks are spyware programs that sort of steal the browser of the computer. Then these programs only display porn websites and ads pages. However, the more crucial effect of the browser hijacks is that these programs enable porn dialers to cut in into the connection and call overseas porn sites.

At first, spyware programs may seem harmless. Research shows that these programs carry destructive network elements that damage the computers. Phone bills can be directed in others' billing account with spyware programs. Aside from this, porno software may be installed in the computers.
